Support people seeking sanctuary in Waltham Forest

Aim
The Lloyd Park Children’s Charity is raising funds to provide critical support for newly arrived people seeking asylum in our borough.
In recent months, Waltham Forest has become home to over 400 people seeking sanctuary, including over 150 children, placed by the Home Office within the borough. These recent arrivals are from a range of countries, including Ukraine, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq and Syria, fleeing conflict or persecution on the grounds of political views, sexual orientation and so-called honour based violence.
Many of these people are only entitled to £8 per week to support their living costs without adequate provision for clothing, toys, school uniforms and basic travel needs.
The Lloyd Park Children’s Charity work to ensure that new arrivals to the borough can rebuild their lives in a supportive environment. Donations to this crowdfunder will be ring-fenced to support their tireless work to support new and existing people seeking asylum in Waltham Forest in the months ahead.

The charity has gone above and beyond to provide critical support for new and existing refugees and asylum seekers, in partnership with Waltham Forest Council.
Why are we crowdfunding?
This is a global humanitarian crisis, and one which is impacting many families in the borough. Although this is a tough time for many residents, there are others who are able and willing to help, and this crowdfunder aims to harness the goodwill of the Waltham Forest community in response to that.
How your donation will make a difference
Your donation could provide critical support to people seeking asylum in the local community. All funds raised will go towards The Lloyd Park Children’s Charity work supporting people seeking sanctuary in Waltham Forest.
Funds raised will be allocated to families and individuals who access The Lloyd Park Children’s Charity services as vouchers to support with purchasing everyday essentials, food and travel.
These vouchers will allow recent arrivals to begin rebuilding their lives in Waltham Forest.
A loyalty points scheme has provided £10 of match funding
This project successfully funded on 17th November 2022
