I couldn't be more thankful for all of you who have reached out, providing your support to myself, my team and the wider industry over the last few weeks. You will never know how much this support means to us, especially as we have had to face what I know to have been the hardest experience in my entire career.
I, along with many of my friends in the industry, am trying to do everything that I possibly can to protect my team during these extremely difficult and uncertain times.
Thankfully, our calls to action to the Government have prompted them to start supporting our businesses, so that we can support our employees who have worked so hard for us since we opened our doors.
Let us hope that the job retention scheme and business interruption loans will keep the vast majority of hospitality businesses where they want to be... in business.
As I'm sure you can imagine, cash flow is a major concern for us at this time, especially when there are currently no confirmed dates for receiving this government support. We are also having to prioritise our employees ahead of our suppliers, who we know are also facing an incredibly difficult time. We value our suppliers massively - we are very loyal to them and they are very loyal to us. We are finding it hugely upsetting that we are unable to relieve any of their financial burden at this time.
I am reaching out to you the general public - those that know me and my restaurant group, those that don't but would like to visit, those that have enjoyed a meal with us, those that have experienced the kindness of my team, those that understand our struggle at this time.
Your support would be more appreciated than you would ever know - by me, my team, my suppliers.
Once we're able to open our doors again, we can't wait to welcome you, so that we can all stand together and raise a glass to hospitality.
Let's hope to get through this and come out the other side stronger than before.
