Stuart & Stuart Penicuik Cricket Club celebrate 175 years of cricket at Kirkhill this year. We currently have 2 active Saturday senior sides playing in the East of Scotland cricket leagues and a blossoming junior section. We have recently renewed our lease with our landlord and are planning for our future.
With each year brings new challenges, with this year one of our biggest challenges to date. After the essential removal of the boundary trees at our ground at the end of the season, concerns were raised about the potential danger of stray cricket balls going over the fence, into our neighbours gardens. The club came to the conclusion that installing a 100 metre long by 6 metre high ball stopping net along a considerable part of our boundary would help minimise this risk. It will also allow us to maximise the area available during adult and junior training sessions.
As the cost is outwith the affordability of the club and with planning permission granted from the local authority, our fundraising for this large project begins. Your donation will ensure that cricket can be played and enjoyed safely for many years to come. Thank you.
Thank you party update - who's who pledge for the rewards that offer invites to the thank you party will receive a person invite to the occasion. It will be planned in for a Saturday evening early season, hopefully catching the end of a game to see the net in action. There will be a complementary buffet and selection of free drinks available.
This project offers rewards in return for your donation.
