Comic Relief launches cost of living appeal

Skyrocketing bills. Soaring food prices. Spiralling levels of poverty. 

Comic Relief could not stand by and watch.

The cost of living crisis has forced millions of people across the country to make impossible decisions. They need our help now more than ever.

Most of us are just about getting through the cost of living crisis, by cancelling subscriptions; buying cheaper brands; putting on an extra jumper. But for millions who were already living in poverty, it’s a disaster.

But there is a way you can help… Comic Relief have set up a Cost of Living Appeal, and your donations can change lives this winter. They are working with organisations all over the country who are working to ease the pressure and help people through the toughest times of their lives. 

Wherever you live in the UK, people in your community are not just avoiding using the cooker; they’re taking out light bulbs, they’re turning off the fridge, they’re going to bed early to stay warm and keep the bills down.

It’s unacceptable that 50% of families will have to go without necessities this winter. That 1 in 3 children are living in poverty. We’re running out of time.
