Eligibility criteria

About your business

You’re an established third sector organisation (charities, social enterprises, community interest companies or co-operatives) located and trading in the UK

– You have social aims, reinvesting profits to deliver a positive impact

– Your organisation is financially sustainable

– You’re investment ready in terms of management, governance and financial position

– You can demonstrate a sustainable business model and capacity to service the borrowing

– You’re not eligible for mainstream funding from banks

– You’re not insolvent or at risk of insolvency

Amount you can borrow

–  You can apply for loans of between £30,000 and £750,000

Assessment and security

– S&CC consider funding for startups on a case by case basis

– S&CC agree the structure of loans, including rates, individually

– S&CC normally require security in an acceptable form from the borrower
