Shark School Kernow aim to create a bursary fund for schools around Cornwall to access funded interactive sessions by the Shark Trust
We want to inspire the next generation to get involved in marine conservation and engage children to show the beauty of sharks and their marine environment. Sharks are a diverse group of animals with over 500 recognized species worldwide! However, marine ecosystems face many threats such as climate change, overfishing and habitat destruction having a lasting impact on sharks with many species classified as threatened on the IUCN list. Sharks are Vital, Valuable and Vulnerable so it really is important we act now to conserve them!

By donating to this brilliant charity, you are helping to inspire the next generation of conservationists to protect the future of our oceans. All money raised goes directly to the Shark Trust to create a bursary fund to allow Cornish schools with limited funds to access these workshops free of charge. This ensures children of Cornwall benefit from this education where they wouldn't normally have access.

An interactive, immersive and virtual educational experience!
We are raising money to fund at least fifteen interactive sessions, delivered remotely by the Shark Trust to primary school aged children in schools around Cornwall. These hour long sessions will be engaging and exciting, exploring the fantastic array of shark species found on our doorstep here in Cornwall and educating children on the importance of shark conservation around the world. The Shark Trust are working hard behind the scenes to create this immersive lesson plan, aiming to launch in January 2022. Make sure your school is first on the list to receive this unique experience!
In today's age it has never been more important to communicate conservation of the marine environment and this is an opportunity to provide this in a fun and interactive way. We aim to provide equal opportunities to local children to help them engage with the nature on their doorstep.

Shark School Kernow has been set up by a group of 3rd year degree students at Cornwall College Newquay with a passion for the marine environment. As part of our Conservation Project Management module, we are setting out to raise money on behalf of the Shark Trust to help with their new venture of providing online shark lessons to schools! We believe this will have a huge benefit to the community within Cornwall.

The Shark Trust was founded in 1997 and are based locally in Plymouth, Devon UK. They have a vision of a future where sharks thrive within a globally healthy marine ecosystem and work hard to achieve this. They collaborate with the UK government and the many conservation charities operating globally to conserve sharks and the marine environment.
