I have been dancing since the age of 4 and whilst I was at university I applied and received 1 of 6 international places to dance in Namibia, South Africa. This experience opened my eyes to what it is like in South Africa and how dance is a common language.
From this I went on to do a Teacher Training degree and during this I did a lot of work with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students. Following this I then started my own business and always had a big focus on inclusivity.
May 2019 I set up an SEN dance class in the Worcester area which was very popular. Due to covid-19 this class is no longer running and it got me thinking that there are probably more in the SEN community who have lost activities due to covid.
From my experience, those in the SEN community, have found these last few months quite a challenge. Their normal routine, which in some cases is really important, has been completely flipped on its head and with the constant changes in guidelines have felt really confused.
A lot of them have lost the activity that they enjoyed the most as it was their way of being able to express themselves in a world that doesn't make sense to them.
With your help I can create dance videos and give them to the SEN community for FREE and help them to still take part in what they love and communicate in their way! The money pledged will be used for the production of the videos. It will pay for the hall, videographer, editor, youtube support plus other areas of production.
Each pledge has a different thank you gift attached to it relative to the amount pledged
