Help us publish our second recipe book, support 20 artists and fight food poverty in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales!
Secret dishes from around the world 2 will be the second fundraising recipe book by Bounceback Food CIC, an award-winning social enterprise that has been proactively fighting food poverty in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales since 2014.
Back The Book!
If we hit our all or nothing target we'll be able to commission 20 artists, who are all based in the 3 regions we support, to complete the design work required for each of the 20 countries that will feature in the book.
Who are the artists?
In January 2020 we launched an open call for artists based in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales - the 3 regions where our social enterprise Bounceback Food CIC has been proactively fighting food poverty since 2014.
Our selection panel were blown away by the volume and quality of applications (thanks to everyone who applied!) - eventually they shortlisted the final 20 artists:
In the run up to our #BackTheBook crowdfunding campaign we've been featuring details of the 20 artists on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts on social media - give us a follow to see more of their work!

Who are we?
Bounceback Food CIC is a community cookery school that supports people living in food poverty in Greater Manchester, Cheshire & North Wales. We use the 'buy one, give one' model on our public cookery courses to generate free places for people using foodbanks/getting third sector support and sell staple items of food (pasta, soup, rice etc.) in the same way as part of our foodbank drive at market events. This proactive approach to tackling food poverty has helped us teach over 1,500 people how to cook, donate almost 10,000 items of food to foodbanks and provide over 50,000 meals as part of our wider community outreach work which also includes catering, supper clubs and corporate cook offs!

What will the money be used for?
We'll use your donations to cover the costs of developing and self-publishing the book. This includes commissioning each of the artists to develop country specific artwork, additional graphic design costs and recipe development. If the campaign is successful, we expect to be able to publish the book in November 2020.
Any additional funding will go towards purchasing new equipment for our community cookery school, bringing new members of staff to our team so we can deliver more community outreach work and producing the equivalent eBook/audiobook.

All proceeds from sales of our books go towards the development of our community cookery school as we continue to proactively tackle food poverty across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and North Wales.
