Aim

For the first time in over 24 years, we've confirmed there are pine marten in the forests of the North York Moors. We need to find out more.

After 4 years of searching, NatureSpy and a team of hard-working volunteers finally got the proof they needed - pine marten are living on the North York Moors.

But now we have a lot more questions and need to take the project to the next step.

We need to find out;

  • How many there are?
  • Is this the only one?
  • Where has this marten come from - is he a Yorkshire native, Scottish, illegal release etc?

To do this, it's vital we raise funds. These funds will go towards answering these questions, through:

  • Purchase of more camera traps to increase our coverage
  • Purchase of hair traps so that we can extract DNA
  • Cover costs of running the project

It's a tremendously excited time to be studying martens in the vast North York Moors forests, and we hope you will be a part of it...
