The Northcourt Music Venue is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues.
Our Problem
Our venue faces closure because we have had no income at all since early March and will not be able to generate income for many months
What We'll do with funds raised
Your donations will be used to pay overheads to enable the venue to survive including insurance, outstanding advertising and promotional bills for gigs we've already had and the many that can no longer go ahead. Also to make emergency payments to our Sound & Lighting crew members who are completely freelance and have so far received no income also since early March and look like they will be unable to claim any via the government schemes and are facing severe hardships right now.
The current position
Currently our bank account is almost zero after paying what bills we can. As you would expect all ticket money already paid is ring fenced in a separate account since this money is effectively the musicians money and shall never be used for anything other than to pay the bands. I have already paid a substantial four figure sum out of my personal funds but that's reached the point it cannot continue. So I need to ask for help to keep things going. If you've enjoyed coming to the gigs we put or indeed like going to live music anywhere please make a small donation to help us and other venues survive.
Help us to continue to provide a live music venue in a town where there is NO OTHER and to provide a platform for young original musicians to perform, learn their trade and BE PAID.
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
