The money will raised will be used to pay staff, suppliers, utilities, fixed costs and anything to support Dartmouth Arms going forward.
We run a tight ship and are working closely with our creditors to keep everyone happy - but anything we can raise from this fund raiser will help ease the pressure on Dartmouth Arms, Disappearing Dining Club, and the whole network of small businesses and individuals that make up our wider business family.
Since taking on Dartmouth Arms in summer 2018, Disappearing Dining Club have successfully evolved the pub from a seen-better-days local boozer to a thriving part of the local community, with a focus on good food, great beer, tasty wine, and fab music on some seriously wonderful Hi-Fi.
DDC have overseen a huge shift in the pub's fortunes, turning it from a pub that lost money . . . every . . . single . . . week . . . into pub that broke even and eventually became profitable by the end of 2019. 2020 was going to be a great year, where the long term future of the pub would be secured. But then . . . oh! Hello Coronavirus.
2020 has been incredibly challenging. Not only has Dartmouth Arms been closed for a significant portion of the year, Disappearing Dining Club, who previously paid for Dartmouth Arm's losses, has also been unable to trade, meaning both Dartmouth Arms and DDC must depend on local grants, government supported debt, and whatever Covid-19 restricted trade we can generate to survive.
At the time of writing we are closed to the public and expect to be so until at least March. Or longer. We are therefore starting a new fundraiser to help Dartmouth Arms survive the very difficult year ahead.
We are certain, that when the pub can reopen in T2, T1 or under no Covid restrictions at all, that Dartmouth Arms and Disappearing Dining Club will be quickly reestablished as a profit making concerns - and your donations will be used to help us keep our business and suppliers up and running until then.
