Raising funds to help towards the resurface of our community and school 3G artificial pitch.
Why do we need your help? Our 3G sports' pitch was laid in 2010 and is a huge asset to both the local community and the school but is now due for replacement. We have recently hit unprecedented times with the Sports' Centre being closed for most of the last 12 months. We are therefore reaching out to our local community to help raise some funds towards its replacement.
Our current pitch has had multiple patch repairs to ensure it is still playable and accessible to the local community, but it is now in such a poor condition that patching is no longer an option and - in its current state - it will only last a few more months before we will need to take it completely out of commission.
The pitch is used by the local community and the school. Facilities like these are particularly important in these post-COVID times we currently find ourselves in, where mental health and physical health are both so important. We are therefore working hard and are doing everything we can to raise these vital funds, and we are hoping you can help us to reach our target.

Our aim is to replace the current surface with a Tiger Turf Atomic Pro 3G synthetic turf. This is an FA approved surface meeting all footballing and sporting regulations. This will support the training of individual players and teams; our future champions!
Project Cost:-
£160,000
Additional costs - £5,000 - £10,000 (possible shockpad repairs).
Our Crowdfunding Target:
£10,000 - £20,000 towards these costs.
We aim to reach an initial target of £10,000 from community funding and all donations will be gratefully received.
If we exceed our target, we plan to spend any additional funding on goals and equipment for community use.

Rossett Sports' Centre - Community Use
The pitch has over 55,000 local community users annually, made up from a wide ranging demographic - it is the home of junior and senior football clubs, disability groups and friends who play just for fun!

The pitch is open to the public seven days a week, and can be booked by anyone in the community. No membership or affiliation to the centre is required.
"The 3G pitch is a real hub and key asset to the local footballing community with eight junior football clubs, six senior football clubs, Harrogate Gateway Disability Group, Harrogate Town Youth Development and over 25 other recreational groups using the facility on a weekly basis. It's a thriving facility and we are doing everything within our power to ensure we raise the funds to re-lay the pitch and keep the facility open to the public, for many more years to come." (Josh Lyon - Centre Manager)
Rossett School
The pitch is also used by individual sports players and teams at Rossett School, with lessons taking place each day, and extra curricular activities and competitive fixtures taking place, come rain or shine.

"The 3G is an essential and important provision for GCSE and A' Level coaching and play. It is used by all year groups and across a wide variety of sports, from the traditional football all the way to hockey, lacrosse and ultimate frisbee.
There is never a moment in the day, or after school where the 3G is not in use. It is also used for extra-curricular clubs after school. The facility provides many opportunities to the students of Rossett School and has ensured that we can offer a very diverse and rich curriculum.
The use of the 3G for training has ensured success for our school teams and individuals. Sixth Form students, using this facility, have prepared for, and secured, football scholarships in America; and Harrogate's very own Rachel Daly learnt her best defensive moves on this pitch, before becoming the first ever English woman in the American National Women's Soccer League." (Kat Fairbairn - Head of PE)
What our community users say:-
"As a local community junior football club and partners of Rossett Sports' Centre we at BSJFC, base our club football activities around the 3G and grass pitches. Without them we could not function as a club. They are invaluable in our continued support of our more than 300 aspiring young footballers." (Secretary, Beckwithshaw Saints JFC)
“Rossett Sports Centre 3G has been invaluable to Harrogate Town AFC, we have had a good relationship going over a decade now enabling us to facilitate and develop our youth development programme. Without these local facilities we’d struggle to run our ever expanding offering to the grassroots footballing community.” (Dave Riley, Director - Harrogate Town AFC)
"We've played football at Rossett Sports Centre for over 21 years. Great facilities and great staff! Looking forward to the next 21 years!" (Andrew Beckett, Harlow Over The Hill)
