We are producing a limited edition book that celebrates Maidstone United's return to the town.
What is this project about?
Kent County Council's Libraries, Registration and Archives have teamed up with Maidstone United Football Club (MUFC) to produce a series of activities, events and projects all about the history of the club. As a part of that project, we want to produce a limited edition book dedicated to telling the unique history of MUFC.
It is hoped that the book will be a large 'coffee table-style', full-colour hardback - full of interesting articles, anecdotes, interviews, photos and illustrations about key events, characters and players.
Why do you need funding?
The overall project has received the majority of funding from Arts Council England. This has helped to bring a writer, Steve Tasane, and professional photographer Malcolm Glover on board.
The book will be produced using some of this funding. However, in order to produce a book that is of the very highest quality, we are asking you to pledge your support and make it as good as it possibly can be.
Are you asking for a charitable donation?
No - by pledging your money to the production of the book you are essentially buying a piece of the club's history and will gain something in return for your money. One way in which you can do this is by pre-ordering a copy of the book. However, there are several other rewards available in return for your pledge. Simply look at the rewards on the right of this webpage. You won't pay anything unless we reach the target amount.

We are passionate about history and keen to build a Maidstone United Football Club archive to share with the community. We are supported by MidKent College and Maidstone based arts organisation FrancisKnight, passionate about the arts, who bring expert knowledge in commissioning high quality artwork and artists.

It is hoped that with your help too, we will produce a book to be treasured by generations, brimming with Maidstone United's colourful history. Join us, support the project and be a part of that history. Thank you.
