Refurbishment of Longham Football Pitch

Aim

We have two local football teams, our football pitch is very uneven and in a dangerous state , we need to completely refurbish the pitch

Longham Football Pitch Refurbishment 

Longham is a small mid Norfolk village of just over 200 people, it fortunate to have a pub , church and village hall with a playing field. These community spaces have become even more important since all public transport links to the village have been cut. Any community activity or building provides the village with a meeting place and improves the well being of the villagers..

For over 50 years there has been a football team in Longham and at present we have a first and second team.  The games provide exercise and a get together for the teams but also provide a meeting place for supporters and villagers to enjoy and catch up with the news from the surrounding area.  

The Project
The football pitch has become uneven and is in a dangerous state due to years of rabbits and moles tunneling under it. The FA has inspected the pitch and recommend that a complete refurbishment of the pitch should be carried out.

The cost for the work is £11,000 and like most small village hall there is little spare money. Grants have been applied for and this grant, should we get it would mean that we can go ahead with the work. There is support for the project from the Parish Council and a signed petition with over 90 signatures on it, from players, supports and villagers.
