In 2019, there were 5,691 suicides in England & Wales. We plan to run/walk/bike/swim 1km per death (5691km) to raise money for prevention.
Suicide devastatingly impacts approximately 135 people per death. That means in 2019, 770,000 people were bereaved by suicide in England & Wales alone.
We need to do more to stop the pain and suffering of suicide.
Over the weekend of 23-25 October, we plan to run, walk, bike or swim 1km to acknowledge each of these deaths by suicide. That's a bold goal of 5,691km in total and we need your help to get there!

We know that 10% of suicides are committed by those who have been recently bereaved by an earlier suicide. We also know that 28% of suicides are committed by those already known to mental health services. In identifying and providing support to these high risk individuals, we can avoid the pain and suffering of that stems from suicide.
Stigma Statistics is enabling suicide prevention through data insights. We are developing functionality to enable more timely support for the bereaved, better prevention and better intervention functionality. Our platform is used by mental health services, mental health charities, bereavement support, Local Authorities, Local Public Health, Police and Coroners.
The more money we raise will allow more services to use our platform for free whilst we continue to develop functionality, ultimately leading to more lives being saved.
Together, we can reduce suicide in England and Wales.
