The Purcell Singers is an award-winning choir and a registered charity. We are raising funds to record a new CD album for our 25th Anniversary in 2019, celebrating 25 years of performing and recording together: from the Royal Albert Hall to the Basilica di San Pietro in Perugia, Italy, and of course the famous Abbey Road Studios.
Over the years, we have collaborated with fantastic soloists and musicians, at home and abroad, including a European Union collaboration with the Orchestre de Picardie in Amiens and Rouen, France. We have lent our voices to film and film trailer recordings, including the Madagascar 2 soundtrack, and have raised thousands for other charities, including Railway Children and the Yellow Heart Trust. Thank you to everyone who's supported us in reaching our 25th year!
We welcome everyone to share in our celebration, from singers past and present, friends and family and audiences from across the years as we record some of our favourite choral pieces, including:
Barber - Agnus Dei
Erb (arr.) - Shenandoah
Lauridsen - O Magnum Mysterium
Moses (arr.) - Abide With Me
Whitacre - When David Heard
Britten - Five Flower Songs
Gibbons - The Silver Swan
Harris - Bring us, O Lord God
Howells - Take Him, Earth, For Cherishing
Please help us to create this very special album! Every donation will make a difference and help us to continue our work bringing fantastic choral music to the UK and beyond.
