Throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic our social care staff have been incredibly brave and committed to their roles, the trauma they have witnessed could bring lasting psychological impact and it is important that support is provided.
A coalition of social care providers, invited the social care sector to express their feelings and share their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic through poetry. Poems in a Pandemic captured staff thoughts and emotions through a poetry competition.
We have received almost 300 entries and would like to display these poems in a pubic domain by creating a platform of reflection. This crowd funding page would allow us to set up a virtual library and share these poems.
Our vision is that this library becomes an interactive space for sharing emotion, talking about feelings and staff supporting each other throughout this traumatic time.
We would like to publish a book of the top 100 poems and capture the stories of the poets who wrote theses words. This would be a historical record from the frontline of the covid19 battle 2020
We aim to sell this book and profits will go towards supporting the ongoing costs of operating the virtual library and interactive reflective platform, a 'Mumsnet' for social care workers.
We would welcome donations to make this happen
Thank you in advance
