Uplyme & Lyme Regis Cricket Club was founded in 1886.
The club needs to secure the purchase of a new roller to allow the club to continue to play cricket on the Devon/Dorset border.
We are a small club based on the KG5 Ground in Uplyme, but promote cricket not just in the immediate area of Lyme Regis and Uplyme but beyond, including exchange links with Deepdene Bears in Melbourne. These links allow our young players to develop their skills in Australia before returning to share that experience with other young people.
We enter enter two Saturday teams in the Devon Cricket League, a ‘Dads & Lads’ Dorset Cricket League side and field a Friendly side for Sunday and mid-week fixtures.
Youth Cricket is a key priority for the club, with teams for girls and boys of secondary school. A dedicated former sports teacher now devotes his special talent on local primary schools in Uplyme, Lyme Regis and Charmouth through the ‘Chance to Shine’ and ‘All Stars’ programmes.
We have a full, term-time U11 fixture list in association with local schools and additional fixtures in U13 and U15 age groups.
Unfortunately, the club recently lost former Chair, Paul Messer. Paul was behind the Deepdene exchange and numerous other initiatives at the club, so the intention is to dedicate our new roller to his memory.
