Over the last 18 months we have been working towards getting a permanent space for Partisan, Manchester's new co-operative arts and social space. Now that we have our space, we need to secure its future.
We have had to make improvements to the building in order for it to be suitable for meetings, workshops and social events like our recent opening weekend; this had DJs, bands, workshops, film screenings, panel discussions and a community fair for our user groups and was very well attended so we know there is a need for a space like Partisan in Manchester.
We now aim to gain a full licence, make the space more accessible, sort out a sound system for the space and of course improve soundproofing to keep noise inside and keep our neighbours happy. However, this is something that will take time and money.
Before we are able to gain our full licence -quite a long process due to being in a Listed building- we can only have a limited number of events, which makes it more difficult to meet our running costs and the costs of making the required improvements to the space in order to gain the permissions.
We currently have no external funding to enable us do this so we need your help.
Donations will help us to prepare for gaining the full licence and will help to keep running over the next few months while we do this, so we really need your help in the way of donations and membership.
We are a collective and Partisan is run by its members, so by donating to the crowdfunder and becoming a member, not only can you start supporting us financially and enjoy using our space, you could contribute to the way Partisan runs.
Any donation, however small, will help us enormously in getting Partisan off the ground in the coming months.
