Aim

We are raising funds to get three of our adult para dancers to the European Para Dance Championships to represent Great Britain next year!

We are Impetus Dance, a community interest company based in Pencoed, South Wales.

Visit our website here.

Our fabulous Para Dance athletes, Robin and Kerry, are taking to the skies by doing a zip wire challenge at Zip World Tower, Merthyr Tydfill on Monday 1st September at 2 pm.  They are fundraising to support the Welsh Team getting to Europe next year to compete as part of Para Dance Team GB.

For those of you who haven't heard about us, we run inclusive dance sessions across South Wales, for people with disabilities.  We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves through dance. We run classes for all ages and abilities, no matter how we identify ourselves.  We teach a variety of ballroom and Latin and specialise in wheelchair "para" dancesport.

We have attended World Para Dance accredited training, and work with Inclusive Dance UK to ensure the growth of the sport here in Wales.  We are also affiliated with UKA Dance, UK Equality Dance Council and are an accredited silver awarded Disability Sport Wales Club.

Next year we are travelling to Europe with three of our adult dancers who will be representing Great Britain at European Para Dance Championships. Our Welsh dancers are local to Bridgend and RCT, and we are keen to get our name out there as we are the Welsh branch of the British Team!

As a team, it is going to cost approximately £1000 per person for 3 athletes and one coach to attend the championships. This is without the cost of travel of those carers who are essential to this making this event happen.

Any monies raised will go towards travel costs for these three athletes and their coach.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
