Aim

Help Zero Hour make the case at this year's Labour Party Conference. The time for REAL Change is now.

This year’s Labour Party Conference will be the most important party conference ever.

Why?

Because we are now in the middle of an existential climate and nature crisis that threatens to flatline the UK economy; cause mass deaths both abroad and at home; and bring everything we care about – from the NHS to schools to our natural world – to its knees.

This year we’ve seen the impacts of climate and nature breakdown on our doorsteps – flooding followed by drought followed by crop failure. Heatwaves causing wildfires that destroy precious nature reserves. Climate-linked food inflation hitting our shopping baskets and wallets. Hundreds of heat deaths in our communities as the vulnerable were abandoned to the rising temperatures.

As the world crossed 1.5C for the first time, the Government said it recognised the danger of climate and nature breakdown. Yet it has failed to deliver a legally-binding roadmap for change; and it even threatened a three-line whip against the landmark Climate and Nature Bill back in January.

Announcements on new runways, potential oil and gas expansion, and weakening protections for nature prove just how far off course the Government is. The lack of ambition means we’re destined to break our key international pledges – the Paris and Montreal Agreements on climate and nature – that are coming due in 2030.

Was this the change any of us voted for?

With so much at stake, the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool this September is shaping up to be a landmark moment.

Will Labour stand up to big oil, follow the science, and lead on climate and nature? Or will they cave in to the fossil fuel lobbyists and big polluters who are already booking their tickets to attend?

Instead of canapés, champagne, and corporate lobbying, we want the Labour Party Conference to be the moment when those who care about our communities, our loved ones, and our future, can speak truth to power.

That is why Zero Hour needs to be there – to hold the Government to account, push for the solutions we urgently need, and make sure the climate and nature crisis stays at the top of the agenda.

Last year, thanks to your support, we did this brilliantly - even bringing former Net Zero Tsar and ex-Conservative MP Chris Skidmore to the Labour Conference, where he made the papers by backing our call for the Climate and Nature Bill as a true ‘Climate Change Act 2.’

This year we have an opportunity to do so much more.

👉 Can you donate today to make sure our voices are heard loud and clear at Labour’s conference in Liverpool this September?

With your support, Zero Hour can take the fight for real change directly to Labour’s Conference. Every donation will help us stand up for people, climate, and nature in Liverpool this September and drown out the voices of the lobbyists and fossil fuel corporations.

Your donation will:

  • Bring Zero Hour to the table with Government officials and influential decision-makers taking our call for urgent climate and nature action to the top
  • Support an impactful conference panel chaired by Simon Opher MP, Guardian journalist Helena Horton, Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Energy Mete Coban, expert scientist Professor Nathalie Pettorelli and a climate or nature Minister.
  • Put pressure on key stakeholders like Energy Secretary Ed Miliband and Environment Secretary Steve Reed to recognise the need for legally-binding commitments.

This is the moment for us to put the pressure on.

This is the moment for us to make politicians listen to the scientists not the fossil fuel lobbyists.

Most of all, this is the moment for us to secure the REAL Change we need to ensure our survival and build a healthy, wealthier, more sustainable future for all.

Can you help us make this happen?
