Aim

Help us bring Zakiyah’s to South Woodford! Your support will help us create yours and ours dream neighbourhood bakery!

Having trained at Le Cordon Bleu London and worked at hotels and bakeries across London such as The Langham, Little Bread Pedlar and Cédric Grolet, I’ve spent years developing my craft and learning from some incredible teams. And from these experiences, Zakiyah’s Patisserie & Bakery was born.

We began as a micro bakery from home in 2020, just after lockdown. What started as home deliveries quickly became something much bigger than we ever imagined. The support was incredible, and before long, we had four delivery drivers helping us get our bakes out to all corners of London!

From there, we moved on to pop-ups, which we absolutely loved. There’s something so special about meeting the people who enjoy what you make, seeing familiar faces and watching people try your creations in real life. It’s what made us want a space of our own even more.

For the past three years, we’ve been building Zakiyah’s around full-time jobs, getting married, having a baby, creating our pistachio bar and searching for the right space to finally call home. After years of searching and two spaces that didn’t work out, we’ve finally found and secured the one.

And now, Zakiyah’s is coming to South Woodford!

We want to create the kind of neighbourhood bakery you can pop into for your morning coffee, pick up your favourite pastry, get your daily bread, discover something new, or spend a little longer catching up with friends. Somewhere that feels welcoming, has really good specialty coffee, freshly baked sourdough, and pastries that give you a reason to come back.

We have so many ideas we can’t wait to bring to life, from late-night openings and monthly dessert bars to little events that bring people together. We want Zakiyah’s to be more than just a bakery; we want it to become a part of the neighbourhood.

Getting to this point has taken years of hard work, a lot of patience and so much love. Now we’re at the stage where we need a little help to get the doors open and bring everything we’ve been dreaming about to life.
