On the 18th August 2023 we'd raised £2,010 with 33 supporters in 29 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Hi there, Yr Hendy RFC are an established Division One West club offering young people and adults from the local community personal, social and playing development opportunities.
We are trying to raise money to invest in an innovative camera that will have a range of benefits to all of our junior and senior teams in terms of engaging players and helping us to help them develop more effectively.
Having this camera will help us provide a massively increased number of learning opportunities for our players, and a much more rounded and enriched rugby experience.
It's been a struggle following the COVID pandemic to engage with the numbers of young people and adults that we had prior, and being able to offer new and exciting experiences for our players would be a major bonus and will hopefully drive new engagement and participation within our community.
It will also help us accommodate new volunteers who will develop new technological skills. This will help modernise the kind of services and opportunities we can offer to local people in our community hub.
We will use money raised to purchase a camera and the accessories required to be able to record games. We will also subscribe to a service which provides analysis and objective feedback to the players, which will help raise player engagement and make coaching and player retention more efficient.
We are proud that Yr Hendy RFC is extremely active in our community. We are proud to support and foster development of young people in our community.
In addition to a number of our own teams playing out of Hendy, we have supported Llanelli Schoolboys under 15's using the club as a playing base this season and the Urdd have held activity camps with us as well.
We have also hosted a large number of events throughout the year from the local primary school's Christmas party, a pop up market, created opportunities for community yoga as well as lots of dinners, parties and general social occasions.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
