Aim: To allow our younger members to take part in a residential course of Expert Tuition with National Youth Brass Bands of Scotland.
Forfar Instrumental Band has brought Brass Band music to Angus and Tayside for generations. We were one of the founding members of SBBA (Scottish Brass Band Association) in 1895.
Our Band is made up of 30 players in varying age and ability, but more importantly we are family friendly with half of our Band being siblings or children of existing members.
This year we have recruited 5 new younger players. (The youngest is 10 and the eldest 14.) This takes our tally of young players to ten. As music tuition is being cut in our local schools these 10 young players have been given lessons on a voluntary basis from existing band members.
If our Brass Band is to continue in the future it is vital to have high quality experienced players.
A Fantastic Opportunity!
Please help us to raise the funds required to keep Forfar Instrumental Band playing for generations to come!
