New stretch target
We will be able to open the youth group for more hours and to a more varied age group. It would also enable us offer more varied and exiting activities and trips.
We also will be able create more volunteering opportunities and supply volunteers with extra training and support thus further strengthening our community resilience.
There hasn't been a Youth Group on Higher Folds for at least 5 years, and we are trying to create a safe space for children and young people, promoting positive behaviours and encouraging a sense of community, all whilst still having lots of fun. We believe as a group of residents we understand our community and it's needs better than anyone else and see all too often good kids getting into trouble, simply because they are bored. We have just run a series of consultations with our young people and it is very clear that they desperately want a youth group. The pictures above are from these consultations. We are a group of tutors, community workers, artists, musicians and students that really want to give the young people that live round our way opportunities they would otherwise never experience, maybe that's having drum lessons, going metal detecting, creating art or simply relaxing in safe space with trusted adults. Please help us to make a real difference to our community and the next generation of Higher Folders!
