My name is Albrin Junior, founder of Rev Media House, an independent production company committed to telling emotionally honest stories that stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
Over the past few years, we've continued to create films despite limited resources because we believe powerful stories shouldn't depend on enormous budgets. Our previous short film, From Glasgow Without Love, brought together an incredible team of artists and collaborators, proving that meaningful independent cinema can be created through passion, creativity and community.
Now we're ready for our most ambitious project yet.
The Film
YOU DID NOT COME TO ME BY CHANCE is a romantic supernatural drama about two strangers whose brief encounter changes both of their lives forever.
When fate separates them before love has the chance to begin, an unexpected reunion after death reveals that some souls are destined to find each other, regardless of time or mortality.
It's a story about hope.
About grief.
About destiny.
About believing that love can outlive death itself.
In a world often overwhelmed by division, conflict and uncertainty, we want to tell a story that reminds audiences of something beautifully simple, some connections are bigger than time. You Did Not Come To Me By Chance explores one timeless question: can love truly transcend life and death?
The film follows Isabel and Richard, two souls bound by destiny. Their love begins with a chance encounter and evolves into a story that defies time itself. Through poetic visuals and heartfelt performances, the film invites audiences to believe in the enduring power of love and the mysterious ways fate brings us together.
I’ve always been fascinated by those fleeting yet unforgettable connections that seem to mean more than coincidence, moments that make us feel that something greater is at work. With this story, I hope to inspire hope and reflection, reminding viewers that love, in its purest form, never truly ends.
Like in our last three short films; Hadassah Cut, and From Glasgow Without Love, which have picked up an award, screened in several local and international film festivals, and with a sizeable number of streaming on YouTube, I like to tell relatable stories which are of importance to the society. The film treats a timeless issue and will forever be relevant. This film is largely inspired by true events, however, the ending is fictitious. I personally find the characters to be of interest; Elvis and Molly, the contrast and dynamics between them.
Why I Want to Tell This Story
The inspiration behind You Did Not Come To Me By Chance comes from my fascination with the idea that love can transcend the physical realm, that some connections are destined beyond our understanding. Like many, I’ve experienced moments where time seemed to pause, where a person’s presence felt deeply significant, even inexplicably so. These encounters sparked a curiosity in me: can love truly survive beyond life itself? Could fate have a hand in reuniting souls across different planes of existence?
This story touches on universal emotions: hope, longing, and the mystery of destiny. It reminds us that even in tragedy, love can offer peace and continuity. I believe stories about love’s endurance can bring comfort and inspiration, especially during times of loss or uncertainty. Through this film, I want to explore how love can persist beyond time and mortality, and how spiritual connections can remain unbroken even when life itself ends.
The project will be an intimate, character-driven film that emphasises emotional depth and poetic visual storytelling. With only two central characters, Hailey and Richard, the narrative allows for focused performances and a strong emotional core. The story’s naturalistic settings, a garden, a café, can be filmed in real, accessible locations, minimising production costs while preserving authenticity and visual beauty.
To capture the film’s dreamlike quality, I’ll use simple but evocative cinematography, emphasising lighting and composition over elaborate effects. Subtle visual and practical techniques will convey the supernatural elements in a way that feels organic and emotionally grounded. This approach allows me to create a visually rich and moving film within a modest budget.
Our Vision
We aim to create an intimate, emotionally rich film that blends realism and fantasy. The tone will be warm and ethereal, set in real locations such as gardens and cafés to keep the production authentic and accessible. Through creative cinematography and evocative lighting, we’ll craft a world that feels both grounded and otherworldly.
This is a character-driven story, focused on emotional truth and beautiful imagery rather than expensive effects. With a talented, emerging team of filmmakers and actors, we’re ready to bring this vision to life, a story that lingers long after the credits roll.
A Team Ready to Deliver
This isn't an idea without a plan. Rev Media House will once again collaborate with the talented team at Dungeon Frog Studio, with whom we successfully produced From Glasgow Without Love. Because we've already worked together, we understand each other's strengths, creative process and commitment to producing high-quality independent cinema.
We'll also hold professional auditions to discover talented actors who can bring these characters to life with authenticity and emotional depth.
Every member of cast and crew will be paid fairly, following recognised living wage standards wherever possible, because we believe great films should also be made ethically.
Production Plan
Pre-production: September/October 2026
Shooting: October
Post-production: November – December 2026
Locations
Primary filming will take place in a garden/open park, and the exterior of a cafe.
Costumes & Art Direction
Costumes will consist of contemporary outfits designed to reflect the characters’ personalities and the film’s setting. Art direction will focus on creating a visually immersive environment that supports the film’s tone and themes.
Why We Need Your Support
We've applied for funding before. Like many independent filmmakers, we've experienced rejection. Not because we stopped believing in the project, but because making films independently is incredibly difficult. Rather than giving up, we've chosen another path. We're inviting our community to become part of making this film possible.
Creative Scotland has the opportunity to match the money raised, meaning every contribution you make has the potential to go twice as far.
Our total production budget is £10,000.
We've already secured £3,000 through personal savings.
That means we need another £7,000 to complete production.
Our goal is to raise £3,500 through this campaign, which would then be matched through the Creative Scotland programme, helping us reach the funding needed to bring this film to life.
Without this support, the film simply cannot be made at the standard the story deserves. With your help, it can.
