Aim

To film a dark comedy short inspired by a true Yorkshire allotment rivalry (Hot Fuzz meets Matilda) with a Northern film crew (£1.5k to go).

From 6th March - stil

LOGLINE: A dark comedy short. ‘A 10-year-old aspiring detective suspects his neighbour, a 75-year-old gardening enthusiast, of murder. Inspired by a real-life Yorkshire feud between sisters-in-law and the vicious rivalry that sprouted from owning their neighbouring allotment plots in Leeds, circa 2004-2007.’

We are relying on the generosity of friends, family and collaborators, and are truly grateful for any level of support. (Reference images below).

AIM

Our aim is to make a bold, entertaining and emotionally rich short that celebrates Northern voices, strong performances and distinctive storytelling. Inspired by the director’s auntie’s multiple-year-long feud with her sister-in-law on their allotments in Rodley, Leeds - this is a personal passion project and one that will hopefully become a stunning film festival portfolio piece for all crew and cast involved and an entertaining, emotionally engaging watch for our audiences.

TEAM

'Gone To Seed' is led by an experienced creative team with a strong track record across film, television and theatre. Producer Jack Spring is an award-winning filmmaker whose credits include the Netflix Top 5 UK hit 'Three Day Millionaire' and the feature 'Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint', starring Celia Imrie, Richard E. Prior to this, she worked as a Development Producer at Gordon Ramsay’s production company across major shows for ITV, FOX and Netflix including 'Gordon, Gino & Fred' and 'Next Level Chef'. She directed an award-winning short documentary 'Holly Ramsay: The Talk' in 2023 and recently was a 2nd Unit Director on 'Merry Christmas Aubrey Flint'.
