York Masters Boxing Club and Community Hub works alongside other organisations helping people improve their lives through fitness

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to so many people.....here's a little bit more about us.

The Blue Slate Foundation is the registered charity that funds York Masters Boxing Club and Community Hub that is located at Redeness Street in York. We are not just a gym, we also offer many interesting and varied opportunities for people to improve their lives and wellbeing by taking part in sessions at The Hub. The Salvation Army run a client session in The Hub for homeless people suffering from alcohol/drug misuse and mental health issues. The Blueberry Academy also use the gym facilities which are invaluable for treating clients young and old with learning difficulties, autism and other mental health needs. The Hub also works with patients from The Foss Park Mental Health Unit in York. The Hub also works with Restore Christian Organisation and York Drug and Alcohol Service. The majority of the above are marginalized in society and The Hub provides a fantastic environment for people to mix and feel part of something worthwhile, we have some amazing examples of where people have totally changed their life around. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we have to move out of our current premises at Redeness Street, York. Thankfully New Earswick Sports and Social Club have kindly offered us an alternative site adjacent to their clubhouse and we are raising funds to build a brand new facility. The Blue Slate Foundation is a non profitable charity as every penny we have received in the past has gone back into York Masters Boxing Club and Community Hub. Once the new club is up and running more classes will be available for a wider range of people with disabilities. The present hub and boxing club is a great asset to the local community and charities and would be a massive loss to the York area for the people who use it to improve their lives. Any contribution no matter how large or small will make a difference.

This project successfully funded on 6th January 2024
