York City Baths Club Covid-19 Crowdfund

Aim

York City Baths Club is aiming to raise £10,000 to support the swimming club during the Covid-19 crisis.

Who are we?

York City Baths Club is a competitive swimming Club operating in a variety of pools in York.

We provide great opportunities for swimmers of all abilities, from swimming lessons within our very own learn to swim scheme, through to competitive swimming training within our squad programme. 

Why are we raising funds?

We are raising funds to help with the financial impact on the Club due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In March, the whole country was asked to stay at home for the general safety of everyone. The Club made the decision that during these challenging times, no teaching or training fees would be collected from Club members. At the same time the Club made a commitment to support its service providers to ensure that the route back to the water will be as rapid as possible once circumstances allow.

We also strongly believe that our Winter Extravaganza competition will not take place in November due to the social distancing measures which are likely to remain in place for mass gatherings. This has previously been our biggest fundraising opportunity of the year and has generated a significant profit for the Club.

As things stand, the Club is projecting a significant operational loss in 2020.

What will these funds be used for?

The funds raised will be used to help cover the Club's forecast revenue shortfall and support it's fightback against Covid-19.

Prize Draw

There are some fantastic prizes available in return for your generous pledges. Each qualifying pledge will be entered into a prize draw once the crowdfunding project has finished.

1 to 1 Coaching Session with Josh (Head Coach)

All pledges of £30 or more will entered into a prize draw for a 1 to 1 coaching session with the Head Coach Josh Spencer on a stroke or skill of your choice. The Club will book and pay for a private lane at one of the pools in York. This prize will be available once we are able to hire a lane.

1 to 1 Butterfly Masterclass with Double GB Olympian Caroline Garratt  

All pledges of £30 or more will entered into a prize draw for a 1 to 1 Butterfly masterclass session with double GB Olympian Caroline Garratt.  The Club will book and pay for a private lane at one of the pools in York. This prize will be available once we are able to hire a lane.

Kuvings Cold Press Juicer

All pledges of £30 or more will entered into a prize draw for the award winning Kuvings EVO820 Evolution Cold Press Juicer courtesy of www.ukjuicers.com. This is a vertical slow juicer which will help in providing a super dose of nutrition with each use. 

Sports Massage with YCBC Coach John Suddes 

All pledges of £20 or more will be entered into a prize draw for a sports massage session with YCBC Club Squad Coach and qualified Sports Massage Therapist John Suddes. The prize will be available once the government guidelines allow this to happen and subject to a health screening.

Personal Training Session or One Month Membership at Chokdee Martial Arts Academy

All pledges of £20 or more will be entered into a prize draw for a choice between a personal training session with former Muay Thai World Champion Rich Cadden, a personal training session with Jo Cadden or one month membership at the Chokdee Martial Arts Academy who are based in Poppleton. The prize will be available once the Chokdee facility reopens.

2 x Yoga Passes at the Yogabomb Studio 

All pledges of £20 or more will be entered into a prize draw for 2 passes of 20 consecutive days of unlimited yoga at the Yogabomb Studio in Clifton, York. This prize will be available once the studio reopens. 

Physio Assessment and Treatment Consultation

All pledges of £20 or more will be entered into a prize draw for a 1 hour home visit physio session consisting of assessment and treatment consultation with MSK Physio Jennifer Davidson. This prize will be available once government guidelines allow this to happen and a home visit will be in the York area only. 

Sit Fit and Orthopaedic Pillow Bundle

All pledges of £20 or more will be entered into a prize draw for a Sit Fit (an ergonomic cushion to help with posture) and a orthopaedic pillow, courtesy of Chiropractic 1st York.

2 x 6 Months Free Swimming Lessons 

All pledges of £10 or more will be entered into the draw for 6 months of free swimming lessons at the club for a child aged between 5 and 10 years old. This prize is open to both members and non members. 

£30 Swimzi Voucher

All pledges of £10 or more will be entered into the draw for a £30 Swimzi voucher.

1 Month Squad Fees 

All pledges of £10 or more will be entered into the draw for 1 month of squad fees upon return to full training. This prize is only available for members of the club. 

*Prize Draw -  Terms and Conditions:

• The prizes will be drawn at random by YCBC Head Coach Josh Spencer.
• Prizes will be drawn and the winners will be notified in August 2020. 
• Only pledges with a visible name will be entered into the prize draw. Anonymous pledges will not be entered. 
• There will be a maximum of one prize per pledge. This excludes the YCBC swimming hat reward which can be claimed and you will still be entered into the prize draw. 
• The prize draw running order will be as follows:

     £10 pledge prizes

• There are no cash equivalents for any of the prizes.
