Hailed as a comedy echoing the best episodes of ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES, and sisterhood likened to that of BBC’s FLEABAG, Lace-Evans’ smash-hit dark comedy play debuted at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024... And now we are getting ready to RETURN TO EDINBURGH FRINGE 2025! 🐿
But we need YOUR help getting there...
What is the show about?
Dysfunctional sisters Sara and Saskia are forced to confront the unpredictable stages of grief. Sara is living in denial, and Saskia is determined to celebrate the anniversary of their mother’s death with her quirky partner Mark and a party to die for. But when a jaw-dropping secret is revealed, things go from bad, to worse, to catastrophic.
Developed by SOHO Edinburgh Labs, and listed within the ‘Top 100 Trending Shows of the Edinburgh Fringe 2024’ we became an immediate hit later going on to enjoy a sell-out London run at The Other Palace.
Why support 'Yes, We're Related'...
1. We are a female-led production company, championing women and squirrels within the creative arts.
Lace-Evans Productions (LEP) is a female-led production company, empowering women to tackle the gender disparity in theatre production and the creative arts.
Arts Council England research shows the gender pay gap in the arts had increased from 2.2% in 2022 to 4.7% in 2023. According to Laura Carollo, global cinema expert, “In 2025, women accounted for 27% of the nominees for the main non-acting categories at the Academy Awards, down from 32% a year earlier.”
We put women’s voices at the heart of stories, predominately showcasing and supporting upcoming female producers, playwrights, composers, designers and directors in comedy.
2. Help us support our charity partner, Sue Ryder.
'Yes, We're Related' follows two dysfunctional sisters navigating grief, and in 2024 we partnered with the UK's leading grief charity, Sue Ryder. During our time at Edinburgh Fringe 2024, we raised a total of £526 in donations for the charity.
According to Sue Ryder charity, “it is estimated that for every death, nine people are affected by bereavement” and working alongside Sue Ryder, we have harnessed their resources to increase our outreach to communities affected by grief.
3. The future is nutty and bright for our award-winning ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ show
We are super excited to be returning to Edinburgh, however up until this point we have been entirely self-funded. We have a confirmed full festival run with Underbelly, Cowgate - one of the 'Big Four' venues at the Fringe - and we want to return BIGGER AND NUTTIER than ever before.
Who 'WE' are...
FLORENCE LACE-EVANS WRITER/ PRODUCER Hey! My name is Flo (or Florence if you want to be formal) and I am the creator of this nutty comedy... I studied as an actor at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and I've always loved watching comedy and TV sitcoms. I started writing during the pandemic when I was tired of reading comedy scripts with female parts that I didn't resonate with, so I decided to start writing my own funny material, and 'Yes, We're Related' was born!

Heya! My name is Fran and I studied at Mountview on the MA (Theatre Directing) course. I have worked extensively across the industry, including in-house at the BFI, as well as on productions such as Heartstopper (Netflix), Too Much (Netflix), The Greatest Showman (Disney) and Love Island (ITV). Working on the development of 'Yes, We’re Related' has completely spun everything I thought about grief. Directing alongside our cast has made me realise the importance of light within dark, and the humour inside the absolute macabre. Our production will leave you feeling that even in the darkest of times, there is always a silver lining.

Where you come in!
We can't wait to go to Edinburgh Fringe, but it does come with a HUGE price tag... and we need your help to get us there. Here are the bare bones of what you can help towards...
🥜 ACCOMMODATION - our cast of three and crew of four need somewhere to stay in Edinburgh between 28th July to 25th August...
🥜 VENUE HIRE - we have our space booked at Underbelly, Cowgate (Big Belly), the same space which Fleabag famously began.
🥜 TECHNICAL CREW - our show is nuts, but it's also technical... and we need a lighting designer, sound designer, show operator and most importantly A SMOKE MACHINE!!!
🥜 PR AND MARKETING - we have a fabulous team behind us including one of Edinburgh Fringe's leading PR companies, Chloé Nelkin Consultants! We need your help to get our names on the big screens... quite literally.
🥜 TRAIN TICKETS - we are all based in London, and in this case Avanti West train tickets are our tickets to success!
🥜 COSTUME AND PROPS - along with providing costumes for the cast, it is estimated we need 10 helium balloons, 7 lamps and 25 trifles for the fringe... that’s a lot of custard.
🥜 CREATIVES AND CAST FEE - we want to pay our artists for their time rehearsing and performing to alleviate any financial burden during our time at the Fringe
