Axe & Paddle Bushcraft began back in 2012, when husband and wife team Steven and Kirsty Le Say hosted a Spoon Carving Workshop in a friend’s garden. In the four years since, we’ve moved into our own seaside workshop just outside of Brighton, where we host a number of courses, teaching traditional Bushcraft skills and crafts.
We’ve had an active presence at festivals throughout the summer months, teaching children, and this is something that we’d like to do more of. After all - getting the kids interested in being outdoors, utilising and respecting natures resources and getting their hands dirty is such a simple, yet enriching and rewarding thing and we absolutely love every minute of it!
So we want to introduce a new element to our growing business. We want to TEACH KIDS FOR FREE! To enable us to do this, we'll need to turn our workshop (currently as many of you know, a converted garage!) into a safe, warm and welcoming creative environment to invite kids down to. This will mean we’ll be looking to raise funds for everything from insurance to insulation, and from materials to first aid kits. We’re hoping to raise up to £10k for all of this, and we need your help to do it! So if you agree that kids should be saying ‘yes please, to dirty knees!’ and believe that teaching kids that making things beats a computer game any day of the week, then please join in supporting us.
Thank you.
