Aim
To provide a Warm Space for members of Yateley Community Pantry where they can have a hot drink and food for £1.
We need your help to keep the families we support stay warm, safe and fed through the coming months.
Yateley Community Pantry helps over 690 families and individuals who are struggling to buy essential food and hygiene products. Our members can visit once a week and pay £5 for food and essential items worth around £15 - often more. We also stock additional ‘free’ items including sanitary products and fresh fruit and vegetables. We do receive weekly donations from various local supermarkets but also have to buy additional vegetables, fruit and fresh fridge items using funds we have raised, grants and donations.
Last winter we saw a huge increase of people attending the pantry due to the rise in their utility bills alongside the rising price of food and fuel. We were able to give away warmth packs (which we intend to do again this year) but we found it wasn’t enough for many of our customers and they would still spend their nights cold, with no food for their own family.
Now that our premises has the facilities to provide our members with a warm space, we are determined to get it up and running for the colder months soon to come. The pantry has only been able to stay open thanks to all the amazing support from our local community and we hope they will be able to come together to help those most in need of our warm space.
