Aim

The NHSPS Community Fund aims to support 27 local charities and community groups, helping to tackle health and social inequalities.

My name is Rachel Williams and I am an Estates Coordinator for NHS Property Services. I have volunteered to challenge myself to the extreme (in my eyes) and spend 24 hours in the middle of the forest of the Lake District finding my own food, water and building my own shelter for the night to raise funds for NHS Property Services Community Fund on the 30th September.

Each year NHSPS raise money for 27 different charities around the UK to help those in need and tackling health and social inequalities.

Now I say I am challenging myself to the extreme because my friends and family know I do not like the cold, being wet or being hungry but they also know I have a huge heart and will do anything to help anyone even if it means pushing me out of my comfort zones!

I am very exited (and nervous) to be using this opportunity to raise money for those who are less fortunate and to help the charities we have personally chosen this year to give people a range of help they need whether that is giving them a safe space, food, life / career advice or just someone for them to talk to. I personally have friends and family who suffer from mental health and addiction so this challenge lies close to my heart.

I would be truly grateful if anyone could even spare £1. Every penny counts for these charities and to me.
