Aim

We’re raising money to create sustainability for the musicians and choreographers involved, who are doing amazing things!

We’re creating an explosion of music and dance, to inspire our communities towards a future filled with racial justice and climate justice. Art is crucial to social change: ‘If I can’t dance, it’s not my revolution!’

The sustainability of the project requires sustainability for the artists themselves. Covid has been financially devastating for the arts, and we believe it is right to pay our artists. So we’re calling out to anyone who might be able to spare some money. We have some incredible artists on board.

Muti Musafiri, artistic director of InForMotion worldwide “an Arts organisation & Renaissance productions House that brings together a diverse range of performance artists to explore the limitless possibilities of our human capacity.” Their credits include Paco Rabanne’s One Million Dancers leading campaigns, and have produced music videos for artists such as Denai Moore, Jay Lewn and Sampa the great.

Stefan Adegbola, (lyrics), is an actor and writer. He has worked in film, television and theatre, appearing in Doctor Who (2005), and on stage in the West End, at Shakespeare's Globe, and the RSC. His most recent work includes _Anything for Cash_, an online project for The Bush Theatre, London; and will soon appear in _Death Knock_ on BBC Radio 4 in September.

Smita Vadnerkar, Shreya Vadnerkar and Nidhi Joshi from Nupur Arts, a dynamic arts organisation based in the heart of Leicester “Through outreach workshops and performances, now over 200 students learn at the classes and over 30 years a new generation of young leaders has emerged” working at every stage of production. Shreya has performed for the BBC Young Dancer 2019 Category and Grand finals as duet partner, and Latitude festival as part of Saddlers Wells BBC Young Dancer cohort.

Ananya Bhat is an award winning multi-lingual playback singer, performer and actor. The winner of the 64th South Filmfare Award (for best playback singing – female) for singing 'Namma Kaayo Devane' in 'Rama Rame Re.’ She also won Mahila sadhaki award (2018) from Suvarna News Channel and Star Singer award (2019) from Chitthara magazine at their 10th year anniversary.

Indi Singh Soor, Bhangra multi-instrumentalist and Manager DEA Dhol team. Internationally known and locally respected, he specialises in the Dhol, Dholak, Drums, Piano, Keyboards, Harmonium, Tumbi and Algozey. DEA performed for HM the Queen, Kate Middleton & Prince Phillip - mentioned in Skynews, BBC News & Daily Telegraph.

All these amazing artists are collaborating to create a physically distanced flashmob with a unique new anthem. But we need your help!

‘Winds of Change’ is an Extinction Rebellion movement of movements campaign, spreading a vision of a green and just future. Sensing the potential for transformation in these unprecedented times, we are reaching out to people beyond our activist circles, with solidarity, joy and active hope.

Please give what you can!
