Wyrdo Zine - Samhain 2026 Issue

Aim

To run a limited print of Wyrdo Zine, The Blood Issue (Samhain 2026), and put on a launch event in Folkestone.

Hello there, weary traveller! Welcome to Wyrdo, an independent zine for wyrdos!

We’re just a couple o’pals who want to share, inspire, and encourage a love for all things wyrd and unloved. After meeting at our Creative Writing Masters, we made it our mission to combine our creativity - then, 5 years later, WYRDO was born!

The story so far

So far, we’ve released 5 online issues, freely available via our Instagram. We have used the zine as an opportunity to explore all of our creative endeavors - from essays about nature and silly quizzes about folk horror films, to curating playlists and just doodling silly little guys. It’s been a wonderful learning journey, and we wish to continue upon this little path of wyrd.

As we approach the second anniversary of the launch of Wyrdo, we’d like to do something special.

The Samhain 2026 Issue

This time around we’ve introduced a theme… (drum roll) BLOOD. 🩸

We fear it, we revere it, we don’t think much of it as it slops around inside of us. It's life itself, it's death, it's kin, it's your stigmatised menstrual cycle. It's at the heart of our stories, from gothic horror and vampyre folklore to slasher movies and our everyday phrases. In this issue, we want to hold all of that to the light as we travel into the darker months.

Why we need your support

To bring the theme to life even more this issue, we want to run a limited print - which is the part we need your help with. We've always dreamed of being able to offer a physical copy but have had to keep it digital because... printing is expensive!

We also want to offer free copies to the people that have their work featured in our zine.

There will be a launch party for the zine at Club, Folkestone, on Friday - October 16th, 6PM-8PM!

Any donation is welcome - we know money can be tight so any amount given is gratefully received and appreciated. However, there will also be rewards for people who donate certain amounts (but more on that below).

What we're hoping to raise & what for

Overall, we are trying to raise £450. Here’s a breakdown of our costs:

• Printing (zine and merch) - £300
• Event space and snacks - £150

Can you help us make it happen?

Rewards

Each tier corresponds to a reward to say thank you!

• £10 - zine
• £15 - zine and a sticker
• £50 - zine, sticker, and thank you in the zine

(If you wish to donate above the tier and would like a zine, then reach out to [email protected] and we’ll happily send you a copy!)

We are so touched by every person who has supported us on our Wyrd journey. THANK YOU! 💓✨
