To raise £20,000 to help keep Wycombe Youth Action and its services going, we provide positive activities and mentoring to those most in need
Wycombe Youth Action has been serving the young people of High Wycombe and its surrounding areas since 1982, delivering high quality youth support services. We are proud of our track record and committed to building on it over the coming years to support young people make a successful transition to adulthood.
Out Mission is- to empower young people to build hopes, aspirations and the skills they need to succeed in adulthood.
We do this for a diverse range of young people by supporting them in creating and achieving their own goals so that they grow in confidence and resilience, become less isolated and are less vulnerable to exploitation. We celebrate and facilitate creativity and learning through a range of innovative porjects such as BlinkFM, street dance, urban art, volunteering, mentoring and much more.
Our core offer is a drop in facility for young people coupled with outreach and mentoring sessions in schools and communities across the district. In addition we also run three youth clubs a week, we are the only youth charity in High Wycombe providing a universal provision open to all young people.
Those familiar with High Wycombe will know that there are complex issues in the area, and other charities have been hit hard by the recent cuts to funding, with a lot facing closure, and some having already closed. We believe that young people are the future of High Wycombe and need to be invested in, with both time and money.
