We would like to raise funds to buy internet radios for the wards in hospitals across Fife. Music has proven to improve mood and recovery.
We are all volunteers at VRN, there are no paid staff. All the presenters give their time freely whenever they can.
We have scheduled programmes that go out live with a presenter chatting to patients, staff and visitors (if any) encouraging them to phone into or message the studio to have their name, birthday or anything played out to them, whenever presenters can’t be there in person we play a recording they have made previously.
Our aim is for everyone in hospital the opportunity to listen to VRN and enjoy new and old tunes. Something they haven’t heard in a while. A memory to make them smile.
Especially at this moment in time with COVID-19 being a huge and scary part of our lives. Patients who aren’t getting any visitors would whole heartedly benefit from music, interviews and stories.
Our station also gives people the opportunity to learn and train with us if they are in college or retired and looking for a hobby and we also support people with learning disabilities to gain confidence and independence.
