Aim

A short film focusing on the governments plans to change the age of people who can get prescriptions free

Our Story

We are a small crew of 2nd year film students working towards creating a short film to raise awareness about our government's upcoming plans regarding a change to prescriptions. The governments plan is to change the age boundary in which people qualify for free prescriptions.

Our film is dedicated to showing the impact and harsh reality that this change could make to the general public, with a particular focus towards older generations, through a social-realist drama.

This film focuses on Frank, an elderly gentleman battling with grief whilst supporting his wife with Alzheimer’s. When the government change the age for which free prescriptions are awarded, Frank is forced to choose between paying for her care and his own health .

Why?

Any funds raised will go directly towards the process of bringing this film to life such as actors, production design & catering for cast and crew. Any funding in excess of our budget will be directed towards AGE UK who are campaigning to help those in need, during this time.

This is a topic we are very passionate and would love the opportunity to further our industry experience whilst highlighting the struggles that these changes can make to our society; by making the issues more visible for those that may not see that they are there.

How?

As students, we are working along side Falmouth University at School of Film & Television(SoFT) where we have the industry standard facilities and free equipment hire, with guidance from experienced tutors.

What you can do to help

Any donation not matter how small will mean a great deal to us to bring this film to life, and also work towards the positive work and support that AGE UK gives to so many others.
