WOW was started in the height of the pandemic by active practitioners Richard Leeson and Charlotte Croft, originally in the form of online workshops from West End stars to keep young people and their passion in musical theatre going during such a tough time.
Our aim now is to offer these people the chance to experience a professional standard of musical theatre that they may otherwise be excluded from due to financial or geographical restraints, and thereby expand and increase their own skills and opportunities for exposure within the industry.
We do this by providing classes, workshops, masterclasses, and full scale productions all at a subsidized cost to those involved, enabled by raising funds as a not for profit organisation.
We hope to offer audiences in Merseyside a chance to support and applaud these amazing young people through showstopping productions, events and experiences all year round!
Now, we’re taking the next big step: opening our very own WOW Studio. This isn’t just a rehearsal studio - it’s a community musical theatre hub. We want to create a space that can house and offer a full weekly timetable of musical theatre classes that are accessible and affordable for the young people of Liverpool, giving them further opportunities to train and network.
Our new space will feature:
A rehearsal studio. Fully equipped with mirrors, sound systems, toilet, shower, and kitchen facilities. Perfect for classes, rehearsals, and workshops.
We need your help to furnish and set up this amazing space. Your contributions will go towards:
- Studio Equipment: Mirrors, storage and sound system.
- Furniture: Chairs / tables to use during rehearsals.
- Essentials: Kitchen equipment like a microwave and kettle to ensure users can access hot food and drinks during lunch.
