Our reason why

Mental Health issues are rising due to COVID-19 with experience of isolation, anxiety and loss.

Negative Mental Health, can sometimes lead its victims to take their own lives.

We want to help.

Our mission

Exercise can help reduce feelings of stress, anxiety and depression. It releases endorphins, can change our mood and improve our self-esteem. 

Worries to Wheelies is a campaign that will provide the use of free bicycles to those suffering Mental Health issues in England, to encourage exercise and sport.

Benefits

Providing the use of these bicycles will not only improve well-being, but will also encourage social integration and provide a feeling of recognition and togetherness within communities.

Exercise will also have a positive effect on fitness levels and weight reduction, a resistance to the COVID-19 Government initiative. Some effects of those undergoing psychiatric treatment, can lead to weight gain.

Fundraising

We will be carrying out multiple fundraising activities, from online challenges to local events, but here on Crowdfunder we will be asking for your kind donations towards this campaign. We have chosen to launch this campaign on 18th May, as this is the first day of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

Along with cash donations, there is also an opportunity to donate second-hand bicycles depending on their condition, which we will service to be certified fit-for-use before providing it to someone in need. 

Our goals

We have an open minded-target, as all help will be greatly appreciated. If we can improve just one persons' well-being, and remove thoughts of suicide, it will be worth it. However, the ultimate dream would be able to help hundreds of people from children to adults across England.

Partnership

We are endorsed by Lky7 Sports Nutrition & Cycling, a reputable business based in Ashford, Surrey. It has Cytech accredited technicians that will service and repair all second-hand bicycles to ensure they are certified fit-for-use.

We are also endorsed by Harborough Town Football Club Inclusive Mens teams.

We are also building relationships with charities and businesses within the Well-being and Community sectors.

Social distancing

We will follow Government guidelines for social distancing during the process of servicing and delivery of the bicycles which will be sanitised in full.

Expected distribution of bicycles from funds raised will be July, following Crowdfunder campaign end date.
