WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT KICK SCOOTER ACROSS AUSTRALIA

Aim

Aiming to raise £50,000 MacMillan Cancer Support as well as raising money for St Luke's Hospice and Children's Hospice South West.

Hi. I am a PE teacher from Saltash, Cornwall (UK). Beginning on July 15th 2026 I shall be attempting to set 2 Guinness Book of Records World Records:

For the fastest crossing of Australia coast to coast (Perth to Sydney- 2800 miles) on a kick scooter (non-electric).

For the first person to cross Australia coast to coast by 3 different means under his/her own steam (in 2001 I became the first person to run across Australia, in 2003 I cycled across and now, in 2026 I shall be attempting to ride a kick-scooter across).

In doing so I am aiming to raise £50,000. 50% is to go to MacMillan Cancer Support. I am also raising money for St Luke's Hospice and Children's Hospice South West. I am also trying to raise awareness of the need for children to get off their screens and be more physically active. As a teacher I have also written an Educational Project about the challenge that Primary School Children can download and complete.

My motto in life is:

"Don't Limit Your Challenges...Challenge Your Limits." At 57 years old this will be a difficult challenge, but I believe I have the physical and mental strength to complete it, to prove age should not act as a barrier to completing tough physical adventures.

NB some of the monies raised will be used to fund the challenge. I anticipate about 10% of the total raised but will aim for the bare minimum unless a sponsor is found.
