We're still collecting donations
On the 6th August 2022 we'd raised £1,250 with 9 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are fundraising for an indoor roller sport and workshop facility for local young people to enjoy all year round.

WHY AN INDOOR SKATEPARK? - Rained out Skatepark...in August! Really?
Sadly this is a true reality experienced many a time when we've run community events and with Roller sports now a resurgent social activity having a multi-generational appeal growing into a mainstream pursuit as well as an inspirational Olympic sport; the scope for disappointment becomes a lot broader.
While there are outdoor skateparks, they lack basic facilities such as toilets, refreshments, lighting or crucially, shelter – and as we mentioned, it's a real pain when it rains! Sadly the nearest indoor skatepark is about an hour away north or south up the motorway and therefore often inaccessible for local people and their families. We literally attract hundreds of children, parents and families each week to our events which means we have the capacity to book additional time slots, but venues seldom have the availability and so our users must go without.
NO GUARANTEES - What we get Vs What we do!
Not only was BMX and Skateboarding part of the Olympics making their debut in the Tokyo 2020 Games attracting a whole new wave of interested participants but our ethos has always been on promoting progression in Wheeled Sports and demonstrating how it is an alternative to traditional sports with the associated health benefits, social inclusion, community development, employability and and an opportunity to nurture creative & sporting talent!
OUR VISION:
Above design inspiration taken from the cool folks over at the undercover skatepark project.
As above, within our skatepark building design, we will house a skate rink & skatepark ramps we aim to have a cafe, shop and educational workshop space. We will provide a safe space parents can have confidence in as well as a place for riders of all ages to 'escape'! Coaching will be available provided by trained sports coaches. Ultimately, we will make our space somewhere for locals to learn, laugh and have fun!
Bedford has a huge roller sports community with many enjoying roller skating, skateboarding, scooters and BMX. We will be fully inclusive to all and will encourage patience, confidence, sportsmanship and will be a great place to build friendships.
We will support community members and inspire them to achieve more through workshops, tutorials, coaching, specific events and more.
Four ways you can play your part today:
Everyone can help us with our Crowdfunder.
1. Pledge money. Support us in return for a variety of rewards. You will see them on this page and they're our way of saying thank you for your support.
2. Spread the word. We need to reach as many people as possible and tell them about this fantastic community project so share the page on your social media pages.
3. Fundraise for us. You can create a simple fundraiser from this page in a matter of minutes. You don't need any bank details – just a good idea to raise some cash on our behalf.
4. Help with rewards? If you are a local business, or know someone with one, get in touch and play a part in what we're doing with rewards. This is a community effort.
THE COSTS:
We aim is to reach this £20,000 target though a mixture of money raised by the community and via grant funding organisations such as sports bodies and the national lottery.
Grant funders will look at the level of community support for a project and so the more we can raise the better chance we have of unlocking the grants we need!

Hang On! Who we are and what do we do?
Nu Focus Education is a community focused not-for-profit organisation trading as RollBack Skating / RollBack World running a range of educational, sporting and creative youth focused programmes in and around Bedfordshire. In addition to bringing the local community together, we also aim to reach those hard to reach as well as those who may not typically engage in sporting or community-based activities.
Our activities include professional development courses and accredited programmes and workshops in Media, Finance and Business Enterprise. Our youth engagement function promotes mentoring and youth support schemes designed specifically to help young people build core life skills, develop healthy relationships, and make positive life decisions. Our recreation roller sporting clubs (run under the umbrella of RollBack World) include Roller skating, Roller Hockey, Skateboarding, BMXing and Stunt Scootering.
Some of our programmes include:
The core staffing team are supported by dedicated volunteers that assist with running, co-ordinating and planning of our activity, we have events scheduled weekly in addition to seasonal and special events. We also aim to create developmental pathways within our club this has seen participants from our programmes go on to join our core teams which help to support other young people coming through our programmes.
The pandemic and our recovery
Our initial efforts were thwarted by the pandemic as we were unable to run any of our activity this had a significant impact on our ability to generate income, in addition to revenue lost due to the cancellation of our scheduled events. However, we used that time to do more research and to focus on the next phase of our fundraising journey. We are confident that if we are able to secure sufficient funding through this funding stream we may be able to use those funds to help us secure a lease, which in turn will help us to access further funding opportunities.
What we want.
Our ultimate goal is to raise sufficient funds to allow us to secure our own facility where we can run all of our activities under one roof. At present our activities are restricted because we always need to find a suitable venue for any event that we plan. If we are able to secure our own venue we will be able to create an environment where our young people can thrive and develop the key skills which will help them to develop into young adults.
As a community & youth-led organisation we are reaching out to in order to raise awareness about ourselves and our activities as we understand that this is key to our success. We want to ensure that we reach and engage with as many people within the community as possible.
Please support us.
