The Big Jump
So, turns out a Firewalk back in April was just the beginning....On Sunday 9th October 2022 I will be throwing myself out of a plane to raise awareness and funds for better mental health in Cornwall. I'll be jumping from a fear inducing 15,000 feet and freefalling for 60 seconds! I've had Tom Petty's classic song running around in my head since signing up and can't help but wonder how many verses of 'Free Fallin' I may get through on my way down...... in between the shrieks of terror and excitement of course, ha!
Mental Health and Me
Mental health problems have affected those closest to me and I have lost family and friends over the years to their struggles with ill-mental health. I am passionate about increasing awareness for mental health problems and ensuring that there is support and advice available to those that need it. I consider myself fortunate to have been supported at a young age by wonderful organisations such as Mind. Helping me to navigate tough times. Now living in Cornwall and raising my incredible daughters, I feel even more strongly about making sure that the services that Cornwall Mind provide are available to them and others if they should need them.
"With over one in four people experiencing a mental health problem in Cornwall the need for good quality mental health support, advice and information is vital." - Cornwall Mind
All the money raised will go towards supporting the services that Cornwall Mind provide. Ensuring that those experiencing ill-mental health have access to wellbeing services throughout Cornwall.
Cornwall Mind
Cornwall Mind have been providing a range of wellbeing services for people who experience mental health problems for over 26 years. Cornwall Mind endeavour to prevent those who are vulnerable from developing mental health issues. "We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. "We won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect, but we need your help too."
