Dear Supporters!
Worcester Park Cricket Club, a non-profit cricketing community has served as a home for players of all ages for over 100 years. Now, as we look to bounce back from the effects of the pandemic we're embarking on a mission to enhance our practice facilities and ensure our continued success of our club.
Based in the heart of Worcester Park, we have 3 regular Saturday teams competing in the Surrey Championship as well as over 220 colts, our developing girls team and a thriving All Stars Cricket program. All with the aim of welcoming and hosting an inclusive environment for our players of all abilities.
Join us on our journey as we look to attract more players and families into Worcester Park and strengthen our ties with the local community.
As our Colt and adult sections continue to grow, our existing 2 lane practice nets are soon to not be fit for purpose. The introduction of a brand new 3 lane practice facility will allow all our teams to have more accessible space to train while providing more opportunities for all by being able to take on more colts. Your support is essential in helping us revitalize these facilities and provide a safe and enjoyable training environment for our players, making a tangible difference to the future of our club.
Furthermore, with Sport England's assistance, we can recover from the challenges posed by the pandemic and reinvent our operations to better serve all of our members while ensuring long term sustainability of our club. Together, these funding opportunities will not only enhance our cricketing facilities but also foster a healthier, more resilient community for years to come.
The cost to create space and install the new nets is set to be around £60,000. With around £10,000 in club funds, £18,000 in our hundred club donations as well as some additional funding we are looking to raise £10,000 through this Crowdfunder (+Sport England extra funding) to boost this project.
100% of the money raised will go towards the demolition, re-positioning and implementation of a new 3 lane net system. In the event that we cannot reach our target, the money will be spent to re-surface the current 2 lane nets to make it usable to all.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Claim & Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters.
