Worcester Norton CIC are a group of 5 local residents who understand first hand the lack of facilities in our area. We appreciate that our working families want holiday clubs for their children and our teenagers need a youth club and regular activities to encourage exercise and a place to 'hang out and socialise'. We will also offer our older members of the community clubs to attend, with the support of local Charity 'Worcester Wheels' who have offered to work with us to provide transport for those who need it.
We would like to have the hall built and in use by Spring 2023. We will offer both sporting clubs and recreational groups. We are a non profit making company, so all money raised will be re-invested in the facility.
You may recall completing several surveys identifying the activities you would like us to provide. Here are just a few
Holiday Clubs/Childcare, Cubs Scouts, Rainbows, Youth Club, Short Mat bowls, Indoor Cricket, Health and Fitness Classes, Mother and Baby Groups, Adult Learning, Netball, Archery, Arts and Crafts, Indoor Airsoft, Tennis, Mini Soccer, Badminton and of course the social bar facilities and food.
There was also a desire for the hall to be available for hire for private functions like Birthday Parties, Weddings etc.
We will listen to the needs of the community and of course try to offer as many activities as possible.
The building has been granted the planning permission needed and will stand on the site of the current dilapidated changing rooms which will be demolished to make space for our new building.
Find out here why our local resident and member Doug Robinson feels a new community sports hall is so important.
The new community hall will have a multi purpose large room which will be suitable for a range of activities. There will be changing facilities, shower and toilet facilities as well as disabled access to all floors.
The Grade 2 listed Clubhouse, which was the original Worcestershire Regiments Sergeants Mess has been considered in the design of the new build, as well as the mature trees on site. This forward planning will ensure that the new building will not have any detrimental effect on the listed buildings that are an important part of our local heritage. The renovation to the original Grade 2 listed building will take place as a Phase 2 of our project once the community sports hall as been built.
To support our fundraising, we will be arranging a number of events before Christmas.
We have already had our fantastic fireworks event with 1400 attendee's, this raised just over £4000 which will be added to this page over the next few days! Thank you everyone.
We have also held our Quiz Night on Saturday 17th November; 45 members of the community in attended, all helping to raise money towards our project. Our final fundraising event this year will be the Santa Crafts event. Tickets are still available via the Facebook page.
We have been successful in gaining two substantial grants totalling just over 1 million pounds. We also have other funders interested in our project.
However, unfortunately due to the effect of COVID 19 the material costs for our building have risen sharply over the last few months. This has sadly left us with a significant funding gap.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- By offering a Prize or Reward that members can purchase

All the money goes to the community sports hall project.
In recognition of the Commonwealth Games coming to the West Midlands in Summer 2022, Worcester Norton CIC will be hold our own 'Community Games'. Our locals schools, residents, our on site crickets teams, croquet teams and shooting members will be invited to take part in a whole day of sporting activities. We will encourage participation from all age groups and abilities. The day will be fun for the whole family.
We will also open nominations for our own local sporting heroes, coaches, trainers, club staff, grounds men and all those people that work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide clubs and activities for our families and friends.
What better way to celebrate the Commonwealth Games coming to the West Midlands!
