Co-op Warm Spaces Funding Boost has provided £1,750 of match funding
We want to keep our community active and involved. We need help to keep it affordable for all.
We are the trustees of a busy community hall in a rural village in a low income area. We have always kept our charges low, so that everyone can afford them. But our energy costs have now increased by over £3000 a year.
We have youngsters - a youth group, tiny tots, and scouts.
We have over 50's - Good Companions, Woolsery society, Short mat bowls, Tai chi
We have other groups - many, but include 3 different choirs & social quizzes
We provide weekly community lunch (free to those in need), plus a warm space to relax and talk.
All of the above need warm spaces to be comfortable.
So, we need short term support to do that.
This will enable us to keep our community active and involved, at an affordable cost.
We are already taking steps to install batteries by next winter (funding in place), so that we can purchase cheaper electric. We can then continue with low cost hire charges in the long term.
