National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund
We’re taking part in the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund. Donations to our project will be matched by the fund up to the value of £250 per donation to help us overcome the effects of the pandemic.
Please note only one donation per supporter will be matched by the National Emergencies Trust Local Action Fund.
We plan to upgrade present Club facilities to include a separate dedicated practice area. This will require further external funding but match funding can be used from additional funds raised. The Club also requires electrical upgrades to the Clubhouse ongoing ground and pitch maintenance.
WOODVALE C.C. - NO BOUNDARIES- GIRLS CRICKET PROGRAMME

Woodvale Cricket Club - A Sports Club & Community Club
Woodvale Cricket Club has been key part of the local community in North Belfast for over 130 years. Although we have seen many trials and difficulties over those years, the last few years have been the most difficult in living memory, as Covid-19 has led to a significant impact on our ability to provide the activities and services in our locality.
How Covid has affected us
We lost the vast majority of our financial revenues due to the pandemic which significantly impacted our plans to develop the game in Belfast. Player and volunteers were reluctant to come back to the club or play the game.
Our Project
Therefore, this season our blueprint is to return to supporting all our members and in particular women and girls to come back to Woodvale C.C. and engage with the community as part of the recovery process from this pandemic
We have a superbly dedicated volunteer team who are not only skilled but fully focused and motivated to help develop and improve the women’s and girls’ section of our club. But WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Through your support we want to do the following;
- Train and develop new skilled and certified coaches to enable the growth and development of girls and ladies Cricket at our club, in particular women who might fancy coaching instead of playing.
- Deliver girls specific coaching and training at the club.
- Purchase new equipment for girls and women to train and play, thus reducing the costs to them in playing.
We all know that Ladies Cricket in Ireland is booming and is now not only nationally and internationally recognised but will be pivotal in securing Cricket in North Belfast for many years to come.
At Woodvale we will be starting from bottom up but we believe this project is integral in the continued development of the club and critical to its longevity and success. All contributions will make a difference and they will be directed to our girls and ladies growth and development programme and further support our commitment to develop sport in our local community post the pandemic.
Thanks for your support!
Your contribution to this Crowdfunder appeal will be supported by Sport NI who will pledge to provide 60% of the campaign total (up to a maximum of £5,000.00) This presents a great opportunity for us to meet the target set of £8,335.00 for this project.
