Woodlands - Rise from the Ashes

Immingham Town Football Club CIC a club at the heart of the community.

Immingham Town Football Club a team steeped in local history had been in existence from 1912 until its dissolution in 1995. 

During the glory years the club had participated in the Northern Counties East League, the FA Cup and the FA Vase.

The club was well known for community events including - Bonfire night events, children's parties, athletics to name a few.

1992- Immingham Town Welcome Sheffield United

On the official opening of the floodlights at Woodlands Sports Ground, Immingham Town welcomed a bumper crowd to see a full strength Sheffield United under the lights.

End of a era 1995..

After 83 years Immingham Town Football Club a club at the heart of the community came to a sudden end, a mixture of financial problems & team issues meant the club folded.

Ground Fire

Tragically in 1999 Woodlands Sports Ground was subject to an arson attack and the site left in disrepair. The site derelict and unusable for the community.

The Rebirth 2016

Immingham Town Football Club reformed in 2016, 21 years after the old club was dissolved. 

The club rejoined the Lincolnshire Football League for the 2016/17 season with a Reserve team joining the East Lincs Combination League.

Games being played at local facility Blossom Way.

The first season was a resounding success with the First Team coming away with a cup victory.

The club continues to participate at National Feeder League level.

About the Club

Immingham Town FC consists of two adult open age teams an under 18's team and over 15 junior teams from ages 6-16 through our community partner club - Immingham Pilgrims AFC

The football club is founded upon principles that recognise the power of football and its ability to create positive change for our local community and individuals alike.

As a Non-Profit Community Football Club and a Community Interest Company we promote an ethos of;

• Encouraging Respect for others and developing a sense of Fair Play.
• Providing the best possible Coaching, Playing Amenities and Equipment Available.
• A sense of belonging to the Football Club.

• Providing a clear pathway into the First Team for New and Developing Talent.

A New Dawn

June 2023 - After a years worth of negotiations Immingham Town FC have secured a 30 year lease to 'Return Home' to Woodlands Sports Ground with an option of another 30 years.

 Our Vision

Our vision for Woodlands Sports Ground is to return the site to a community asset, ensuring use for Immingham & further afield .

Initial steps to reinstate the pitch & stadium to enable our teams to play from the venue. - reinstatement of changing facilities, pitch barriers, stands & lighting

Phase two - Work on adjoining field to incorporate a community facility capable of providing services and entertainment for the whole community.
