Your support makes a difference
Aim: Transforming woodland into 3 distinct areas for fire pit evenings, outdoor cooking/eating space, and a productive zone for charcoal & veg.
We're transforming our woodland space into a welcoming sanctuary where our local community can escape, connect, and thrive together. This isn't just about creating outdoor space – it's about building a year-round haven where people can let off steam, enjoy nature's healing power, cook, eat, and socialise in the heart of Keighley.
Our vision encompasses three distinct terraced zones, each designed for different community needs:
The Hearth Zone – Our social heart featuring a central fire pit with comfortable seating for 10 people, perfect for evening gatherings, peer support sessions, and warming winter nights.
The Kitchen Garden Zone – An outdoor cooking and dining area with bench tables seating 12, plus raised beds for growing herbs and vegetables that will supply our community BBQs and events.
The Makers' Zone – A functional space for charcoal production, additional growing beds, and quiet reflection, with scattered seating for 6 people.
What We Need Your Support For:
Ground Preparation & Safety (£2,500) – Professional leveling and terracing work to create three safe, usable 16ft x 20ft zones, including drainage and pathways.
Seating & Tables (£1,800) – Weather-resistant outdoor furniture including fire pit seating (£600), bench tables (£800), and scattered seating (£400).
Growing Infrastructure (£800) – Materials for raised beds, greenhouse, and growing supplies to establish our productive garden.
Fire Pit & Outdoor Kitchen (£1,200) – Safe, permanent fire pit installation and basic outdoor cooking facilities.
Year-Round Lighting (£200) – Solar and low-energy lighting to ensure the space remains welcoming during darker months.
Total Project Cost: £6,500
Every penny raised will be reinvested into maintaining and enhancing this community space. Beyond the initial build, funds will support regular events, workshops, and gatherings that bring people together. We're creating more than just outdoor space – we're nurturing community connection, mental wellbeing, and a sustainable future where nature and people flourish together in urban Keighley.
Join us in building this sanctuary where community grows as naturally as the herbs in our beds. It's not just donations we are looking its volunteers to help create and build too.
