We're still collecting donations
On the 16th April 2020 we'd raised £2,207 with 54 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 16th April 2020 we'd raised £2,207 with 54 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Once we get the extra money, we can more quickly build the membership pages and support. We can work full time on the project and build faster, and better.
Women’s Writes is a female led online book club.
We are for women, by women. We champion female authors, we support independent bookshops and publishers, and we want to create a forum for discussion and connection with women all over the world. Ultimately a membership site, we want to create a safe space to empower women, to connect globally and to lift each other up.
But we need your help doing it!
Check out the current site: https://ourwomenswrites.com/
Anything you can donate would make a huge difference to the start up costs.
If you donate more than £100 you will get lifetime membership for the club. While the COVID-19 situation is ongoing the site will remain free for everyone to use.
So where did this come from?
I love to read. I don't know about you but there is something magical in losing yourself in someone else's story. Not just that, I learn so much about other peoples lives, and I gain a whole new perspective on the world. This is particularly important for women, minorities, those with disabilities, the LGBTQ+ community, and even more often considered second in society. Our stories need telling.
The idea for being female led, and for women, by women was because as feminists we appreciate how much harder it is for women in almost every industry. Women not only have to work harder for less money, recognition, reward, but we are also doing a second unpaid job on top of this. And possibly a third and fourth. We have been historically left out, forgot about, made invisible. And it's worse if you intersect being a woman with any other protected characteristic, like race, disability, religion, or even your migrant status.
We want to change that. Every week we want to highlight new book releases to our subscribers. We want to link these books to independent book shops and publishers around the globe as often these are the ones taking the risks on the stories they tell. We want to bring together women who work so hard, to chat, make friends, talk about the important things. We are building a network for you.
Moving forward, with varying membership options, we want to create a bespoke book club service, with deliverers our chosen books straight to your door from the publisher, along with a few treats, for you to enjoy that month.
We hope that we can work closely with the authors to produce live Q&A sessions, as well as recording these as videos and podcasts for people to listen to. Accessibility is so important to us, we never want anyone to feel left out.
Ultimately, we want this to be a safe space for you! Reading is great for mental health, it's great for our work, it's great for our personal development, and it's good business.
To begin with, everything will be free which the COVID-19 situation continues. We then hope to grow and support you along the way. We hope to host events, live chats with authors, sell products and so on. Members will receive first access and discounts on all products.
So please, any donation you can give to get us up and running could change lives. We are a startup, so please have patience with us as we work to deliver this to you, but trust us. We care. We want to help. We want to build a community. And we aren't going to sell out.
